Section: R.1
"Transcribed in DSJW: DSJW1.78 and discussed in HuangShengzhang_1984: Huang Shengzhang 1984. The line following the title reads: 'Lingzhou (in present-day Ningxia) is 4,000 "li" from the Eastern capital (i.e. Kaifeng).' The text proper traces the route from Lingzhou to India. Distances are recorded in "li" or days. Special mention is made of Buddhist sites, including the presence of a Chinese monastery inhabited by Chinese monks. G. dates it to ca. 900."
