"Zir Rgu cag cung of the
Good-'Or regiment having borrowed(?) from Ba Snang rma of the 'Brong-border regiment one horse, its [marks are as
follows]..."
'Brong tsams (mtshams), 'Brong-border, the name of
which is parallel to that of Phyug tshams (p.
62: Or.15000/31), etc. belongs doubtless, along with 'Brong stong, to the 'Brong district
of Mdo gams, concerning which see infra (p.
459: M.Tagh.a.vi.0019, IOL Tib N 2284; M.Tagh.c.ii.0046, IOL Tib N 2052). The script
also, though the document comes from the Khotan region, is probably one
characterstic of that area. It may be remarked that 'Brong is probably "the Yak country", just as Cog (Tsog) ro may be "the Donkey
country".
l. 1, Zir Rgu cag c[h]ung: "Rug cag minor of Zir"; but it may be "Cag
cung of Zir rgu".
Bzang 'Or gyi ste: On this regiment see vol. I (Thomas_1935:
p. 299) and infra (pp. 292-3: M.Tagh.0345, IOL Tib N
1293); p. 456).
l. 2, mtshjald: Is this from 'tshal"request", or from 'tshol, or from what?
