Colophon (in same hand): “Copied and inscribed by the lay student, Li Hsing-ssu on the seventh day of the first month of the year 938.” 天成三年戊子歲正月七日學郎 李幸思書記. Verse after colophon (same hand):
I was born, after all, when my parents were old,
Pursuing my studies at the feet of my teacher, I wish to rid myself of ignorance;
My parents are partial to their beloved son,
Daily remind me that it is in my best interest not to dally.
幸思比是老生兒
投師習業弃無知
父母偏憐昔(→惜)愛子
日諷万幸不滯遅
Fairly good, thick, fibrous, beige paper; stained. Fairly good hand; no corrections, additions, erasures. Much worn.
Three practice characters (Li’s name?).
