"This contract gives the conditions by which the two brothers of poor means agree to mortgage two parcels of their inherited estate totalling two and a half mou of land for a term of four years to their neighbour Luo Sichao in exchange for 15 piculs of wheat. The names and identifying marks of the three men appear at the close of the text along with those of two witnesses, Luo 's father Luo Anjin, and the Vinaya Master Fuhai."
