Colophon: “Written and therefore inscribed by the lay student, Yüan-i, on the tenth day of the fourth month in the wu-tzu year (928?).” 戊子年四月十日斈郎員義寫書故記. Poem in same hand:
When copying, do not drink wine,
Lest the whole day the tip of your brush be dry;
I just let things pass along with my doubts
(this line not fully intelligible, cf. Pelliot chinois 3305)
So that later people may read.
