Quan Tang wen 15.5a-6b, as well as in other Dunhuang mss. and various works of the Tripitaka. It notes the imperial command of 645 authorizing Xuanzang 's supervision of a translation of the Tripitaka. The preface his father Tang Taizong contributed to the Tripitakacommonly precedes it (see Or.8210/S.343:
