"This Western Liang document is the oldest known extant ms. register. Unlike later registers, the text lacks entries on landholdings and the taxes levied on them. It has entries on ten families in Gaochang village, Xidang district, Dunhuang county. Each is registered in the first month of Jianchu 12 (14 Feb - 14 March 416).
